This role oversees welding procedures, monitors welder performance, conducts inspections and testing, and prepares detailed documentation required for project turnover and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Welding Inspection & Quality Control

  • Perform inspections of weld fit-up, joint preparation, final welds, and weld finishes.
  • Verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Records (WQTR).
  • Monitor preheat, interpass temperature, welding parameters, and consumable storage/handling.
  • Check weld size, profile, root pass, fill passes, and final cap quality according to codes and project standards.
  • Review weld maps, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings to ensure correct weld identification.
  • Conduct visual weld inspections (VT) and witness NDE activities such as MT, PT, UT, RT, and PMI as required.
  • Verify filler metal traceability, heat numbers, and material certifications (MTRs).

Quality Assurance & Compliance
