Job Description

Travel Pay: $180/week in & out | Mileage: $0.70/mile | Travel and lodging expenses covered

General Purpose: Install and repair equipment and machinery in industrial establishments. Requires 100% travel and a valid driver's license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fit bearings, align gears and tires, and attach motors.
  • Use hoists, pulleys, jacks, and come-a-longs to perform tasks.
  • Install, repair, replace, and dismantle machinery according to blueprint specifications.
  • Act as signal person for crane operators to ensure continuity of worksite safety.
  • Perform FCAW (dual shield) and SMAW (stick) welding per AWS D1.1 Structural code.
  • Use oxy/acetylene cutting to trim metal objects to specific dimensions.
  • Conduct carbon arc gouging for crack repair and full penetration weld preparation.
  • Transport equipment and materials using a forklift and/or manlift.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise levels. Frequent walking and standing; occasional climbing required. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or six months related experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license required.
  • Extensive travel throughout the United States required; employee is regularly away from home for several weeks at a time.
